About…
This is the personal web site of Dr. Jeffrey Frey.
I grew up in central Pennsylvania farm country near Hershey. So depending upon the time of year the air could be scented with anything from chocolate to manure (so a deep breath varied from rewarding to repulsive). Nevertheless, it was a great place to live: I completed both high school (Lebanon High School class of 1995) and college (alumnus of Lebanon Valley College, class of 1999) in the same vicinity.
After college I moved to northern Delaware to attend graduate school at the University of Delaware. In 2006 I earned by PhD in physical chemistry with a focus on theoretical methods. My graduate thesis touched on topics in computational scanning-tunneling microscopy (STM) and spectroscopy (STS).
Following graduate school I took a position in Information Technology (IT) at the University which included as a major component the support of High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources. I've (happily) been in this position ever since and continue to live in northern Delaware with my wife and two children.
